Uwe Zscherpelreceived his PhD from the University of Leipzig on FourierTransform Infrared Spectroscopy of Zeolites. In 1992 he changed tonon-destructive testing and since 1996 he is head of the working group “DigitalRadiology and Image Analysis” at BAM Berlin. His area of expertise is digitalimage processing in industrial radiology, including NDT film digitization,digital image analysis, pattern recognition and digital reference catalogues forweldings and castings. Additional working fields are the development of standards for all types of radiographic imagedetectors like NDT film systems, imaging plates and digital detector arrays forindustrial applications at DIN, CEN, ISO/IEC and ASTM.
He is married andhas two daughters.

3. Joerg_Beckmann 德國(guó)材料研究院(BAM)
born 1959, studiedphysics at the Technical University Leuna Merseburg. He earned the Ph.D. at theUniversity of Dresden with theses on thermo-reversible gelation. He acceptedpostdoc positions at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University ofMainz Germany and at the National Institute of Standards at Gaithersburg inUnited States. At this time he was working on materials research on triblockpolymers and physical ageing. Later on he joined the Federal Institute ofMaterial Research and Testing in Berlin and applied in 2005 for a position ofscientific assistant at the Division of Radiological Methods. He has beenworking on different programs and is responsible for managing research projectsrelated to Industrial Digital Radiology, Computed Radiography and MaterialsTesting. He is now pursuing his interests in the application of electromagneticmicrowaves and THz-Time Domain Spectroscopy for security applications andnon-destructive material testing of polymers and high performance materialslike composites and ceramics.

He was born in 1963, graduated from the Technical University of Dresden and obtained his PhD in Theoretical Physics from the same university in 1992. In 2001. Dr. Jaenisch finished his Habilitation in Materials Sciences and was appointed as privatelecturer at Technical Universityof Dresden. Additionally, he gave lectures at various universities in Germany, the USA, and Russia. He became a member of the scientific staff of Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und
–prüfung BAM in 1992 being involved in reliability assessment of NDT techniques. In 1993 he was appointedProject Manager for Scientific and Technical Co-operation with Institutes in the Eastern European Countries at BAM. Since 1995 he hasbeen working on the development of simulation capabilities in radiology as well ason the design of modern reconstruction techniques.He was the Head of Working Group “Modeling and Reconstruction in Radiology” within BAM. Inthemoment he is working on direct and inverse problems in radiation techniquesincludingscatter imaging. Dr. Jaenisch has presented more than 200 scientific papers and is a member of the German Physical Society (DPG), the German Society for NDT (DGZfP), and the British Institute ofNon-Destructive Testing (BINDT). In 1999 hewasawarded the Berthold Prize by DGZfP for his work on computer simulation of radiological testing methods, the Roy Sharpe Prize and the Halmshaw Award of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) in
2000 and in 2006, respectively. He supervised 2 master thesis and 8 PhD thesis.

Dipl.-Ing. Bernhard Redmer studiedscientific instruments in Warsaw and in Jena. He obtained the engineering degreeand diploma of the Friedrich-Schiller-Universit?t Jena in 1985 and graduated asindustrial engineer at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin-Karlshorstin 1999. After his activity as an application engineer for opto-sensoricmeasuring technology he was scientific assistant in the laboratory “RadiographyTechniques” and project manager of the project “Tomosynthesis - applications inindustry and civil engineering” at BAM. B. Redmer was involved in the TomoCARdevelopment project as project manager and later as head of an inspection team.From 2005 to 2012 he managed the working group “Radiation technique andRadiation protection”. In 2012 Mr. Redmer was appointed as responsible expertfor Radiation Protection of the BAM. He is delegate at several standardcommittees of DIN and ISO. The working areas are NDT by X- and Gamma-rays,applications of digital detectors arrays, tomosynthesis/ laminography andradiation protection. B. Redmer received the Technology Award of the city ofHamburg (1991) as a member of the working group “Digital Signal Processing” andthe Berthold award of DGZfP (2005).
